“Thanks for saving my sanity. Connie will never win any prizes for perfect pooch behaviour, it’s not in her genes, but it has been incredible for us both seeing the progress she has made at socializing class thanks to your help. When I tell friends we are off for socializing they think it is a hoot to ask if it is for me or for Connie – actually it is for both of us. Thanks to your sensible, down to earth advice, I am far happier and more confident with her and it is a delight to see her able to be in a field full of other dogs and actually relate to some of them and play! For me it is great to get together with other owners with challenging dogs all of whom (owners and dogs) are benefiting and improving from the class.” Lynne Oakerbee and Connie
“Penny was recommended to me by a friend and my 6 year old spaniel took to her immediately! I went to Penny to get some help with Oscar pulling on the lead. We discovered he had a real love of “working” and soon learnt many new things. I always thought he didn’t use his nose until I met Penny – he proved me wrong by doing some great blind retrieves! Penny is very different to dog trainers I’ve known/used before in that she is as good at dealing with the owner as she is with the dog. She happily involves my 5 year old daughter in Oscar’s training which has been really important to me. I have since signed up for the fun gun-dog classes which are just that – fun! Thanks Penny” Rachel Wynn, Fivehead
“Bess and I have attended Penny’s puppy and fun gundog class which we have found to be really useful. I have owned and trained dogs for 18 years now but have found lots of new and useful hints, which have worked wonders with Bess’s training. People often comment on how well trained she is (although she can be a complete minx like any other puppy) and this I put down to Penny’s training methods.” Nicola
“Diesel my Rottie and I joined Penny’s classes when he was just 10 weeks oldas I felt it was important to start him off properly to avoid any issues infuture due to his potential size, breed and attitude. This was a good decision as although no problems encountered intially, weneeded to work through the ‘terrible twos’ for which Penny’s guidance andexperience made a difference. He is now a loveable well balanced happy dogat 2.5 years old. Thank you Penny.” Chloe Holland.
“Without Penny’s patience, kindness and humour I don’t know what I would have done. My dog Topaz an Airedale puppy and myself had already been to one dog training school, where I had been made to feel stupid and was given the impression my puppy almost untrainable. Then I found Penny in “Yellow Pages” and gave her a call, and have never looked backed. We have been attending classes for about six months now and are progressing nicely. The classes are sociable and the dogs love them.” Jean

“It was a great day when we met Penny. As with her help we gained the confidence to rescue two border collies. Thank-you.” Kaye & Tony Webber
“Dear Penny, I just want to thank you for the way you have taught me to handle my dog.
Although Petra is my fourth dog, her behaviour has been very challenging, none more so than when we were in the Lake District in March of last year, when she was “anybody’s” except our dog, but now she will return to me with her tail wagging, and has a gold rosette to prove it.
You have made all the lessons fun and relaxed and you seem to understand that I don’t want a dog to “jump through hoops of fire”, but just to be well behaved and with your help I think I have achieved that. I look forward to continue to improve my dog handling skills with you.” Pam Walker
“We had a bad tempered and head-strong 8 week old chocolate labrador puppy. Penny helped and supported us in turning our bundle of trouble into the perfect family pet and developed us as owners. Darcy, now aged 3, still enjoys his training with Penny as it stimulates him mentally as well as giving him the opportunity to socialise with other dogs and people. Penny’s expertise, advice and patience has been invaluable to us.” Janet
“I started Morgan my GSD off with Penny when he was just 14 weeks old. This was the best decision I made as I am proud to say that he is now a well balanced, obedient friend that is a pleasure to own. He is now two and half years old and I believe he is now a shining example of what a pet should be. We have stayed plugged in to Penny’s progressive obedience training programme, which has included socialisation classes and agility training (when he was old enough). His owner has also benefited from a few prompts herself! Lets see what else we can achieve!” Debra Holland
“Scooby, a border collie cross, came to live with me when he was just 3 months old from his second home. He was very traumatised and withdrawn but after a few months he was domesticated and full of life. Unfortunately this meant I had very little control over him and was his walking chew! He hated going in the car which made going to a class difficult but whilst out on several walks (or arm pulling sessions) I met a couple of dog owners who told me “Penny will sort him out”. After a chat on the phone we began attending the Obedience and Socialisation classes, which were a 10-minute drive away at Hatch Beauchamp, for just over a year. Scooby now responds to me and will do anything I ask, particularly for his little squeaky orange hippo. This became a problem at Agility class in the summer when he stopped at a jump and refused to go over it unless he could see hippo in my hand.
Scooby still loves going to the classes and the other handlers say ‘he is such a character’. I can’t thank Penny enough for getting us both through the last 18 months as Scooby has now grown into a lovely dog.” Scooby’s owner
